Snoop Dogg, a.k.a. Daz Dillinger, is an American rapper and actor from Long Beach, California. He has sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 40 million albums worldwide since 1994. His net worth is $140 million.
Born October 20, 1971 in Los Angeles California to Martha and Vernal Bailey Sr., Snoop Dogg was given his nickname by his peers; the “S” stands for “snoop” while the “D” stands for “doggy”. He was raised by his grandparents in the South Central area of Los Angeles.

As a young man, he played with many record labels such as Suge Knight’s Death Row Records, which was owned by Dr. Dre and featured rappers 2pac, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre himself and Eazy-E; and CEO Suge Knight later took the name from 2Pac when he formed Death Row Records in 1991.
Once Snoop was signed to Death Row Records his debut album entitled “Doggystyle” had strong sales; it reached #1 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1994. After he left Death Row Records in 1996 Snoop signed to No Limit Records where he released “No Limit Top Dogg” which became one of the most popular commercial success albums in the history of music. His second album “Tha Doggfather” was also a diamond success and platinum success.
